LESS SCROLLING. MORE ROLLING.THE INDEPENDENT BJJ CAMP GUIDE

FIELD NOTES / Training smarter

Take more home.

The training side of a camp deserves a plan of its own. This collection connects three decisions: which format to study, how to organize participation, and how to revisit the material afterward. None of those decisions requires attending every advertised session. Begin with a question you want to understand and choose the classes that give it context.

Use the gi/no-gi guide before selecting a program. Read the scheduling article when you have a timetable, then bring the notebook approach into the classes you prioritize. These are planning frameworks rather than individualized coaching or treatment plans. Ask your instructor to clarify unfamiliar material and keep questions about your health with an appropriate clinician.
